Keeping Pax "In The Know" In-Flight and On The Ground

Posted by Seth Bailey on Dec 22, 2014 @ 10:30 AM

A top priority of airlines and airports today is leveraging technology to keep passengers updated, to improve the passenger experience. From the moment a traveler steps foot into the terminal they are greeted by a bank of flight information displays. With little hesitation, they will glance up hoping to find their flight showing that magical phrase of "On Time". They will then proceed to the airline automated check-in kiosk to confirm they are on the correct flight, change their seat to a window or aisle and print a boarding pass all without consulting a human. Then onto security, where according to our recent survey results a whopping 79% of travelers are very eager to know how long they will wait in line. Once through security they proceed to the gate and check the gate display to double check the flight is still on time. To complete their information intake they might glance at a TV to see if CNN is showing the weather, to judge if that approaching storm cell will impact the takeoff time. Point being, each segment of the day of travel journey requires real time, valid and detailed flight related updates so the passengers can remain informed.
